GREAT THINGS THAT ALREADY HAPPENED:

On Saturday, March 3rd, at 7pm, member org Performers Forum presents Dave Scanlon and Lawton Hall.

On Sunday, March 4th, at 9pm, As part of his commissioning project Exapno member, guitarist Kobe Van Cauwenberghe will present a solo program that includes premiers by Paul Clift, Rama Gottfried and Aaron Einbond + one additional piece by Christopher Trapani. All pieces are written for solo acoustic guitar with or without amplification/electronics.  Suggested donation $10.

On Saturday, April 7th, at 9pm, member Joey Molinaro will perform himself as well as bring an array of dazzling guests.  Musical sorcerers Derek Johnson, I’d M Theft Able, and Ultrabunny journey to Brooklyn. Joey and Valerie Kuehne host and keep it real.  Refreshments shall abound.  $5-15 sliding scale.

On Tuesday, April 10th, at 10pm, member Joey Molinaro hosts: Composer / Occupier Concert in downtown Brooklyn featuring: Tom Swafford‘s “String Power” orchestra, Nathan Fuhr with Rzewski’s “Coming Together” & “Attica” with guests Shazhad Ismaily and Sondra Sun-OdeonJen Chapin‘s protest songs, and Joey Molinaro‘s “The Great Unwashed”

On Thursday, April 12th, at 9:30pm, visiting members from Sweden Madeleine Jonsson Gille and Andreas Bertilsson will perform Abraham Boj. They met when Madeleine recorded her fourth album ‘Abraham Boj’ in 2011. She describes her music as ‘fri-classical jazz’, a mix of influences from the nature and improvisations. Andreas ranges from electronic music with field recordings to experimental pop music.

On Saturday, April 14th at 3pm, member org Performers Forum presents member bassists Lisa Dowling and Jason Anastasoff

On Saturday, April 14 at 9pm, member Joey Molinaro will grind out new works for violin.  From Austin, Sex Bruises and Dromez will blast harsh noise.  New York’s Mara Mayer will create clarinet animal incantations, and The Men of Easy Leisure will offer queer noises.  Suggested Donation $5-1

On Saturday, May 12th, at 7pm, member org Performers Forum presents Little Worlds Music & Tom Swafford! Little Worlds will discuss their arrangements of Bela Bartok’s Mikrokosmos and their concepts for improvising as an ensemble; Tom will discuss his upcoming concert Becoming Human, along with busking in subways and other fun stuff.

On Saturday, May 19th at 8pm, Soapbox brings together three composers who work with words, humor, strangeness, electronics, and the spaces between genres.  Elliot Cole will give a hip-hop lecture on the physics of history.  Matt Marks will perform pieces about repressed sexuality and suicidal politicians.  Visiting member Alex Temple will explore logos, trauma, retrofuturism and the end of the world.  $10 suggested donation.

On Friday, May 25th at 8:30pm, member Sonia Megías brings us an evening of new music for her experimental choir, Coro Delantal.  $10 suggested donation.

On Sunday, May 27th at 8pm, member org Sweat Lodge brings us their final concert of the year, It’s a Sweaty Summer. Come cheer them on as they get up to their usual, adorably quirky antics.  Suggested donation.
